The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has fiercely protested the contents of a report detailing the brutal murder of their colleague lawyer Willie Kimani with two others.

LSK objected the tabling of that report and asked Justice Luka Kimaru to issue fresh summons to Directorate of Criminal Investigation boss Ndegwa Muhoro to explain how such a ‘sham’ report was made.

They want Mr Muhoro to give details of the findings made so far on how the murders were planned and executed.

Mr Kimani, his client Josphat Mwenda and their taxi driver Joseph Muiruri were abducted moments after leaving Mavoko Law Courts in Machakos County.

They were later found perched up in sacks, full of stones and thrown in Athi River; a debauched job linked to police officers attached the station where one of their colleagues was the accused in the case.

“The DCI should have in his report not only indicated those involved in the murders but also explain how they planned the killings,” protested lawyer John Khaminwa.

He said there must be sufficient elements of the investigation to be subjected to public scrutiny for the sake of justice.

“We cannot under any circumstances treat this as a final report, we require the DCI to be summoned in court for us to cross-examine him on the issues he has not disclosed,” said Dr Khaminwa.

The lawyer said it is clear investigations are not complete following reports that the signals of a police radio were traced to the scene of the killings.

LSK said that the report has left out abysmal gaps that Mr Muhoro ought to explain.
