A mother of three girls is alleged to have murdered two police officers and injured another in a robbery with violence incident has been detained for two weeks to allow the prosecution to complete investigations.

Frasian Wairimu Mbugua who was born on 5 December 1968 Gatundu south appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Joyce Gandani where the application to detain her for 14 days was made by prosecution.

In the court documents, the police alleged that the offense was committed on diverse dates between the year 2014 and 2015 where the accused was arrested with Smith and Wesson Pistol with 24 rounds of live ammunition.

She allegedly murdered Daniel Wainaina Mwangi and Joseph Mokasa Gor at Utawala Estate and injured Nitin Monga of Parklands.

The court was informed that Mokasa was shot dead within Utawala Estate and later the matter was reported to the police who visited the scene of crime and recovered an expended cartridge which was later forwarded to the ballistics experts for analysis.

It is alleged that on September 7, 2015 along Outering road, the deceased Mwangi was shot dead but his official firearm Ceska Pistol and 24 rounds of 9m ammunition were not stolen. Mwangi is also said to have been a bodyguard of the Member of Parliament for Ndaragwa.

The documents indicate that a postmortem was conducted on Mwangi and a bullet was recovered from his body and the same forwarded to the ballistic experts based the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters in Nairobi for analysis.

The two pistols recovered from the accused and that of the deceased were both taken for analysis. The court was informed that on November 2, 2015, the accused person was arraigned before Makadara Court and charged with the offence of being in possession of a firearm without a firearm certificate.

It is said that on September 1, 2015 one Monga was driving along Forest Road and on arrival at the junction of Ojijo Road Forest, he was accosted by thugs and in attempt to rob him, they shot him on the right under arm but managed to drive off to hospital where he was treated.

He reported the matter at Parklands Police Station where the police visited the scene and recovered one expended cartridge. The expended cartridge was forwarded to ballistics expert for analysis where it was established that the Smith and Wesson pistol used in the murder of Mwangi and Mokasa, was the same one used on Monga who was shot on the right under arm.

The documents indicated that the accused person was arrested on March 11 to face the new charges. The prosecution alleges that the offense is serious and the only sentence if convicted is mandatory death and hence the temptation to abscond if released on bail.

They claim that the accused has failed to co-operate with the police and even declined to record a voluntary statement. They added that the investigations are likely to be extended beyond Nairobi County. They added that the accused was committed the offense jointly with others who are still at large.

The prosecution added that if the accused is released, she will be a threat to the witnesses who have not yet recorded their statements.
