The Assets Recovery Agency has opposed an application by National Youth Service (NYS) scandal suspects seeking to lift an order freezing their properties.

Through its director Muthoni Kimani, the agency says that there is reasonable grounds which led to seizure of the properties.

“The order to discharge cannot be issued since there is an application for a forfeiture pending before the High Court, ” she held.

She told the court that there is enough documentary evidence demonstrating that some of the preserved properties were purchased using proceeds from NYS.

The state law office has already seized properties and money held by the accused.

Some of the properties are situated in Muthaiga North, Rossyn Estate, Eden Times Resturant and Mercury Building located along Moi Avenue.
