Parliamentary Independent candidate for Kajiado North Constituency has been charged before a Nairobi Court.

Francis Parsimei Gitau is accused between the 29 of October 2015 and 16 of June 2016, at Equity Bank Karen Supreme branch in Nairobi jointly with others not before court conspired to steal Kshs. 18,377,000 million equity bank account in the names of Alex Momayai among other account from customers of equity Bank.

Mr Gitau is also accused on or before the 29 of October 2015, at unknown place with intent to defraud , with others not before court , forged a a letter to the general manager Karen Supreme Centre Equity a letter authorizing the manager to deduct money from Equity Bank account of Peninah Wanjiku Kahura, Alfred Ng’anga among others without authority from the individual account holders to a tune of more than 18 million from Equity Bank.

He is also facing another charge of stealing 18.5 million jointly with others who were not in court by opening an account No. 1630266136999 in the names of Lync Africa Client Funds account and fraudulently used the account to transact money from Equity Bank.

He appeared before Nairobi Senior Resident Magistrate Hellen Okwani at 4:45 PM today where he pleaded not guilty to all four counts.

He was ordered to execute personal bond of 5million and a cash bail of 1 million to secure his release pending hearing and determination of his criminal trial.
