A police officer committed to end crime in Nairobi, Githurai area Titus Ngamau alias Katitu will know his fate in two weeks time.

‘Katitu’ is well known by locals for his prompt and timely response to crimes and conclusively investigating robber pies and ending crimes in areas he is appointed to serve.

The court will give him a tap on the back for his work or send him to Jail, a decision he will know on April 5.

Trial Judge James Wakiaga received a pre-sentence report from the probation officers on Katitu to help in his decision.

According to a victim of his work on an impact statement report presented in court, Mrs Purity Wanjiku Mwangi, mother to the deceased has urged the court to sentence Katitu to the maximum custodial sentence allowed by the law.

The arrest of Katitu led to weeks of demonstration by Githurai residents saying that crime is fighting back and that he was being victimized and set-up for ending crimes in the area.

High Court Judge James Wakiaga found Titus Ngamau Musila alias Katitu guilty of murdering Kenneth Kimani Mwangi on April 14, 2013 at the Githurai 45 bus stage.

Justice Wakiaga said the prosecution’s testimony proved that Katitu felled Kenneth during the operation to weed out thuggery in Githurai.
