A High Court advocate has been charged with conspiracy to defraud Kingdom Securities company shares worth over Sh 23.6 million.
Lawyer Robert Langat who appeared before Milimani principal magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot faces another charge of forging certificate of confirmation of grant purporting to be genuine grant issued and signed by justice Aggrey Muchelule of Milimani High Court, Nairobi county.
The court heard that on diverse dates between July 19,2014 and April 4,2017 at High Court of Kenya Milimani, Nairobi county, the accused accused jointly with others not before court conspired to defraud Kingdom.
Securities Ltd shares worth Sh 23,697,131.15 from the account of the same company.
The prosecution also alleges that on unknown date and place Langat with intent to defraud jointly with others not before court forged a document namely certificate of confirmation of grant purporting it to be genuine grant issued and signed by Justice Agrey Muchelule.
He was ordered to be released on a bond of Sh 1 million or cash bail of Sh 500,000 pend the hearing of the case on July 11.
