A Nairobi Court has overturned an earlier order releasing the passports of businessman Humphrey Kariuki, a few days after he was allowed to travel abroad to attend to his businesses.
The new twist in the matter seem to frustrate the businessman who had planned to attend to his businesses outside the country.

t-weight: 400;”>Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot ruled that the application for the release of the passports should now be made in another case.
On Thursday September 19, Cheruiyot directed the release of Kariuki’s passports so that he could travel. But he was unable to secure them since they were missing in the court file.
When Kariuki returned to court through lawyer Cecil Miller on Friday, the DPP was ordered to deposit the passports in court on Monday.
However on Monday, the DPP raised the issue of the existence of two other court cases and different bond terms prompting Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku to direct that the case be taken before Cheruiyot to issue appropriate orders.
The DPP raised the issue of the existence of two other cases, and urged the court to verify the different bond terms issued in all the cases before releasing the passport.
Lawyer Miller opposed issues raised by the prosecution and urged the court to release the passports to Kariuki and verify whether the surety he had obtained, was acceptable to the court.
It was after perusing the files before the different courts that the Magistrate directed that even though the application in which he ruled on had merit, the application should be made before another court.
The businessman has complained of multiple court cases and orders sought by the prosecution, which are meant to frustrate him and companies associated with him.
