TERROR SUSPECTS WHO PHOTOGRAPHED RECCE SQUAD CAMP TO KNOW THEIR FATE TOMORROW.

BY PHOEBE WANJOHI.

Two suspected terrorists allegedly arrested taking photos of the General Service Unit Recce company in Ruiru will spend another night in custody pending a court ruling.

This is after the Anti-terrorism Police Unit presented James Mburu Ikaba and Miriam Njoki before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot seeking orders to detain the two for days to allow them complete investigations.

The two were arrested on January 4 at the Recce company in Ruiru where they were suspected to have been conducting surveillance.

The Anti-terror police argues that the two are at flight risk and should therefore remain in custody pending investigations.

The respondents were in a Land cruiser, KCB 488X vehicle which was parked outside the Recce while taking the alleged photographs and upon intervention by officers manning the said premises, they sped off only to be stopped by the shooting of the tires by the officers.

Upon search, the officers found seven rounds of 9mm ammunition and the two were later escorted to Juja Police Station.

According to ATPU, Ikaba escorted them to his house in Marurui Estate, Kiambu County where the police discovered several items including a Czeska pistol, two magazines, 45 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a short gun escort magnum, 46 rounds of 9.1.00 ammunition, a Czeska holser, a firearm certificate among other items.

The court will deliver a ruling tomorrow morning.
