BUSINESSMAN IN COURT OVER SH 20 MILLION FRAUD.

A man has been charged before a Nairobi court with obtaining Sh 20 million by false pretences.

Fredrick Odongo Okoth appeared before Milimani Resident Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe and pleaded not guilty to the two charges levelled against by the state

Odongo is accused together with another before court that they defrauded Pastel limited a sum of Sh 20 million by falsely pretending there was a restricted tender.

He is also accusedd of making a document without authority.

The court heard that between November 29 and November 30, 2017,within Nairobi City County with intent to defraud, obtained Sh 20 million from Pastel Limited by falsely pretending there was a restricted tender.

Prosecution also accused Odongo together with others not before court that, on unknown dates without lawful authority or excuse, made a letter of offer for tender no KPA/022/2017-2018/PDM from the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development.

The tender was for supply of EQ-Angling Tail Lines to the Kenya Ports Authority a fact he knew to be false.

He was released on a cash bail of Sh 5 million pending hearing and determination of the case.
