A DOCTOR AND HIS EMPLOYEE DENY PUBLISHING MISLEADING ADVERT ON CORONAVIRUS TEST KITS.

A doctor and his employee have been charged in a Nairobi court with operating unregistered health institutions at kilimani area and publishing misleading advertisements of coronavirus test kits.

Avane clinic Proprietor Pravan Mehendra Panchori and Sylvia Ndinda Kaleve appeared before Milimani Residents Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe and pleaded not guilty to three counts.

Prosecution alleged that on March 15,2020 at Avane clinic at Yaya centre in Kilimani in Nairobi jointly with others not before court were found to have illegally authorized designed and uploading into the social media a misleading advertisements as regards to availability of COVID-19 RAPID TEST KUTS and the said advertisements directed the said users to place order and avoid hospital queue and crowds having not been authorized by the pharmacy and poison board.

Panchori are accused that on March 16, this year at Avane cosmetic dermatology clinic and medical spa at Yaya centre in Nairobi county as the in charge of the health institution was found operating the said clinic without license.

Sylvia Kaleve is also charged that on March 16, Avane cosmetic dermatology clinic and medical spa at Yaya centre in Nairobi county was found performing a medical procedure cool sculpting on a patient without the requisite training, registration and licensing.

Prosecution through Joseph Riungu vehemently opposed opposed the accused being released on bond saying they are a flight risk.

The court will make the ruling on their release on bail at 2:30 P. M.
