FORMER MP’S FORGERY CHARGES PUSHED BY TWO MORE Weeks.

BY NT CORRESPONDENT.

Former Tetu MP and Ex-Chairman of Kihingo Village Waridi Gardens Management Ltd James Githinji Ndung’u has yet again failed to plead to the forgery charges.

The former MP was expected to appear in court on Tuesday, but the case was adjourned for the second time, after the court was informed that Githinji was mourning the death of his mother in-law.

The case was postponed two weeks ago after his lawyer informed the magistrate that he had gone into self-isolation after coming into contact with a person who had tested positive for coronavirus.

Although the prosecution opposed the application saying the former legislator was delaying the case, Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku ordered him to appear in court on December 14 and plead to the charges against him.

In the case, Githinji is accused of forging minutes of the meeting of Kihingo village (Waridi Gardens) management one ltd.

He is alleged to have committed the offence on November 21, 2018 within Nairobi city within Nairobi County, with intent to deceive.

Ndung’u lost a bid to take control of the upmarket Kihingo Village estate in Kitisuru in Nairobi has flopped after the High Court dismissed his application.

Justice David Majanja dismissed the application by the MP through Kihingo Village (Waridi Gardens) Management One Ltd, who had sought to block shareholder resolutions electing new directors and removing Ndungu as chairman.

The meeting for his ouster was held at Capital Club on April 13, 2019. The long-running dispute has seen frequent scuffles inside the 42-acre estate and arrests and counter-arrests of the warring parties.

The Kihingo estate was originally developed from 2007 by Kihingo Village (Waridi Gardens) Limited. The equal shareholders in that company were Ndungu, his siblings Gitahi Gethenji, Bob Gethenji and their late mother Hilda.
