An elder woman has been charged in a Nairobi court with defrauding Chinese national Sh 36 million in land transactions.
Hadija Asif Batt appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku and pleaded not guilty to the fraud charges.
Hadija is accused that on different dates between September 2014 and December 30,2016 with intent to defraud, obtained Sh36 million from Chinese national Molu Halkano by falsely pretending that she was in position to sale to him one acre of land L. R NO. 1260/211B at Karen a fact she knew was false.
The magistrate ordered Hadija to be released released on a bond of Sh 5 million or cash bail of Sh 3 million.
The fraud case will be mentioned on March 17 for fixing hearing date.
Another businessman was charged yesterday with several forgery charges of a land worth Sh 70 million in Karen.
