BUSINESSMAN CHARGED WITH SH3 MILLION FRAUD.

A city businessman has been charged in a Nairobi court with obtaining goods valued Sh 3 million from a private company.

Stephen Ngugi appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku and denied several charges of conspiracy to commit misdemeanor, uttering false documents, being in possession of public stores and forgery.

Ngugi is accused that he conspired jointly with others not before court obtained unit of crub screws worth SH3 million from the said Anthony Gitobu Kariuki of Four Rocks Company (Kenya) limited by falsely pretending that he was in position to procure on behalf of the State Department of Transport Nairobi a fact he knew was false.

Ngugi was also charged that on March 19,2018 at state department of Transport Headquarters, Transcom house along Ngong road Kilimani area with intent to defraud he forged a local purchase order serial number of the District accountant Marakwet East government of Kenya purporting it to be genuine document.

Prosecution further charged Ngugi with being in possession of local purchase order serial number and uttering a fake local purchase order serial number.

He was released on a bond of Sh.. or cash bail of Sh..

The criminal case was reported at Kilimani police station.
