BUSINESSMAN DENIES ILLEGALLY REFILLING GAS WITHOUT AUTHORITY FROM BRAND OWNERS.

A businessman has been charged with illegally refilling various brands of L. P. G gas without authority from brand owners.

Abdi Maalin Ali appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ndungi and denied the charges.

Maalin is charged alongside Mustafa Adan Ibrahim who was not present in court, forcing the court to issue summons for his appearance.

The court heard the duo committed the offence jointly with others not before court on May 26 this year at Salama Gas Limited L. P. G storage and filling facility located at Embakasi area.

It is alleged that they were found with several brands of gas without authority from the owners to fill them.

Among the gas cylinders brands they were found in possession with include K-Gas, Total, Lake Gas, Men gas, Hashi gas, Hadi gas and Super gas.

The two are further accused that on the same date at Salama Gas Limited storage and filling facility located at Embakasi area , they were found dealing with both filled and empty LPG cylinders of other brands for gain, without prior written consent from the licensed owners in contravention of the said act.

Maalin was ordered to deposit cash bail of Sh100, 000 to secure his release.
