POLICE POUNCE ON MAN AS HE LEAVES COURT ROOM OVER FRAUD ALLEGATIONS.

Drama ensued in a Milimani Magistrate court corridors after a man facing fraud charges together with former CS Rashid Echesa was arrested over claims of obtaining money by false pretense.

Police pounced on sharply dressed Chrispine Oduor Odipo in a courtroom for allegedly defrauding a businesslady of Sh810,000.

Detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations later whisked him to Rongai where he will likely face the charges.

The man was about to leave the courtroom after the hearing of a case where he is charged together with Echesa over Sh39 billion fake arms deal.

Oduor, a director of Pzel Company Limited, which allegedly received Sh11.5 million kickback on behalf of Echesa and others in the Sh 40 billion fake arms scandal.

In the current case where he was arrested yesterday morning, Odour is accused of obtaining Ksh 810,000 from Joyce Bosibori pretending he was in a position to supply lift repair materials.

Oduor is also a wanted by Kilimani detectives over another case of fraud involving Sh14 million.

The officers had been camping at Milimani Law court since morning awaiting for Odour to conclude the mention of his Sh 39 billion case before senior principal magistrate Kenneth Cheriuyot.

Immediately the matter was taken out of the hearing by the magistrate the officers pounced on Odour and handcuffed him and took him to the court cells before driving him away.

Their trial in Sh 39 billion was adjourned until August 13 since the prosecution were not ready to proceed with the case.
