Controversial businesswoman Mary Wambui has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunitions.
Wambui is accused of being unlawfully in possession of Pistol CZ 75 Compact (Mini ceska) serial No. A785965 without firearm certificate. The court heard that she committed the offence on diverse dates between April 17, 2020 and December 1 last year in Nairobi.
She appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo and denied the charges.
The prosecution further told the court that Wambui was unlawfully in possession of 22 (9.9 mm caliber) ammunitions without valid certificate.
She was released on a cash bail of Sh50,000.
