MAN ACCUSED OF DESTROYING PROPERTY AT FORMER WIFE’S RESTAURANT.

A 40-year-old man has been charged with creating disturbance and maliciously damaging a restaurant belonging to his former wife.

Timothy Kithinji Mukare was accused of destroying crates of soda and food worth several thousands and creating disturbance by making noise at Nogak Restaurant in Upper Hill, Nairobi.

Mukare is accused that on October 4 last year at about 14.30hours inside Nogak Restaurant in upper hill in Nairobi County, he willfully and unlawfully damaged three crates of soda bottles and overturned food inside food warmer worth approximately Sh60, 000 the property of Noraa Gakii.

He is also accused of creating disturbance by shouting and chasing away customers at the restaurant.

The told the court that the accused and the complainant are entangled in a property fight and custody of their children.

Mukare pleaded with the court for leniency saying they have been trying to settle the matter out of court with complainant since last year.

He was released after depositing cash bail of Sh30,000.
The case will be mentioned on February 7, 2022.
