Two men have been charged before a Nakuru court with stealing over Sh2.3 million through robbery with violence.

Collins Mbuya Oyange and Enock Baraza appeared before Nakuru Principal Magistrate Ruth Kefa Chebesio and denied the charges.

The duo are accused of violently an employee of Prime Bank of Sh2.3 million on January 26, 2022.

The accused persons were allegedly armed with knives, a fake firearm and a hammer when they robbed Nieshack Tanui, at Westside Mall in Nakuru town.

It is further alleged that jointly with others not before court, they violently robbed Doreen Ndiga of a Samsung A31 valued at Sh28,000.

The are also charged with violently robbing Irene Nkirote of Samsung AIO worth Sh15,000 while armed with dangerous weapons and also threatened to use actual violence against the victim.

The court ordered them to deposit bond of Sh3 million each or alternative cash bail of Sh1 million, to secure their release.

The prosecution indicated that it will be calling 15 witnesses to nail the suspects.

The case will be mentioned on March 18 to fix hearing the hearing dates.
