Five people have been charged with conspiracy to defraud Zambian High Commission of a parcel of land on Ngong Road.

Neeraj Jayatilal Kalaiya and James Onunga pleaded not guilty to the charges but their alleged accomplices -Gilbert Oyoo, public land officer Andrew Kirungu and land officer Nichola Muchoge were not in court.

They are accused of conspiracy to defraud the Zambian High Commission of the parcel of land by forging a title deed.

The court heard that they committed the offence on unknown dates, jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud.

Th accused persons allegedly forged the title deed to the land measuring 0.75 dated September 16, 2021 in the name of Neeraj Jayatilal Kalaiya purporting it to be genuine.

The prosecution told the court that on October 1 last year at Kilimani Nairobi County, Kalaiya claimed possession of the parcel in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace against the Zambian High Commission, the rightful owner. being in possession of land,

Gilbert Oyoo, public land officer Andrew Kirungu and land officer Nichola Muchoge who were not presented in court were summoned to appear in court to answer to the criminal charges against them.

Kirungu and Muchoge are accused of aiding in the fraudulent registration of land IR 235130LR 1/1392 to Kalaiya in abuse of authority of the Office, being persons employed by service as land officers.

They were released on a cash bail of Sh500,000.
