Twenty officers over the weekend joined the Elite Anti-Terror Police Unit Emergency Response Team(ERT) after completing an intense initial tactical training.

The 20 will join the Elite squad that has been at the forefront in combatting terror activities in the country.

The course was well-tailored to furnish the officers with comprehensive and specialized training in several fields such as tactical medicine, vehicle interdiction, rappelling, counter-terrorism operations planning, Skills at arms, and Vital Installation Security among others.

While addressing the graduands, the Deputy Director DCI, Dr. Hamisi Masa lauded the officers for their resilience throughout the training adding that the training they had acquired was a big boost to its preparedness to counter terror-related threats.

Dr Masa who was representing the Director General DCI George Kinoti also thanked the administrators led by Godhard Kamau and the trainers who have done an exemplary work in ensuring that the course participants are exceptionally trained to meet the challenges ahead.

The Director Anti-Terror Police Unit, Martin Otieno expressed immense gratitude to the Directorate led by DCI Kinoti for strengthening the team.

He also urged the officers to embrace teamwork in their future assignments which will majorly bank on the support they have for each other.

Kamau encouraged the spirit of Multi-agency cooperation in joint training, operations, and sharing of actionable intelligence.
