An employee of Mwalimu National Sacco has been charged with stealing millions from the giant society.

Elvira Karen Mbati was accused that he conspired to steal Sh34 million from Mwalimu National Sacco an offence he allegedly committed on or before 5th March 5 this year at unknown place in Kenya.

The charge sheet stated that he committed the offence jointly with others not before court.

The court heard that the accused person caused unauthorized access to the Sacco’s Homa Bay branch by plugging a foreign laptop of media access control address into the said network.

And in doing so, he allegedly stole Sh 34,093,500 belonging to the Sacco which came to her possession by virtue of her employment.

She denied the charges when she appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi who directed her to post cash bail of Sh 5 million.

The case will be mentioned on July 26.
