United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has spilled the beans on the just concluded Presidential Election.

In an affidavit by UDA Secretary General Veronica Maina, the government tried to manipulate and suppress voters in their strong holds using state machinery.

She said that a week to the general election, the President implemented a widespread systematic plan to engage county commissioners and chiefs in extortion and voter suppression tactics.

Veronica Maina who was also President Elect William Ruto chief also avers that the election was free, fair and verifiable.

According to the SG, misuse of and stranglehold on state institutions and personel culminated in the near coup witnessed at Bomas of Kenya the national tallying center during the verification and declaration of the presidential results.

Ms Maina says that Raila’s case at supreme court is predicted upon counterfeit documents, fake Forms 34A and bogus documents examiner and it’s self-evident that the results by IEBC chairman are those contained in original and verified form 34A.

She also dismisses an affidavit sworn John Githongo as an eccentric affidavit purely grounded on hearsay and unfit for purpose.

“Apart from the spurious computations based on fake Forms originated from Raila , there is nothing worth the inquiry by the court,” she holds.

Responding to the issue of the four IEBC commissioners who disowned the results, Ms Veronica says that It was an improper attempt to overturn the order or process envisaged by the constitution and election Act . It borders on abdication of duty and is untenable.

The four had no basis in law as the IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati is the returning officer and appropriately bestowed with jurisdiction to declare presidential election results.

She adds that contrary to Raila and Martha Karua’s averments that results were not displayed, the public display of running results remained on course through various screens through verification period capturing diverse results as periodically announced by the commission.

UDA SG says that there was no false declaration of outcome of the presidential election as alleged by Raila’s running Martha Karua in her affidavit and there was a compliance with principals enunciated at Article 81(e) (III)(I) and (I) .

She also dismisses Raila Odinga’s claims for lack of security of IEBC election material terming it a sensational and unsupported wildness.

Veronica wants the supreme court to uphold decision by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati to declare William Ruto as the presiding elect.

She also adds that the electoral body and chair chebukati delivered a credible presidential against the backdrop of multiple hardships and adversities calculated to undermine its mandate.
