The Kenya Judges and Magistrates Association has lauded the Supreme Court on its Monday decision that dismissed seven presidential election petitions challenging William Ruto’s win.

The Association lauded the seven judges led by the president of the court Martha Koome in the manner it handled the case and rendering the judgement within the set timelines.

The association through its President Derrick Kuto, said the judges of the Apex court and the Chief Justice exhibited exemplary leadership by deciding the case within 14 days, the set
Constitutional timelines.

Kuto added that Justice Koome’s achievements in the short time are massive.

In a unanimous decision, the top court upheld decision by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to declare Ruto as the winner of August 9 presidential results.

KMJA says it acknowledged the industry and hard work from the learned Judges of the Apex Court.

“In the same breath, we applaud the members of the bar for their commitment and contribution to the rule of law,” said Kuto.

KMJA have said time without a number that Kenya is a country governed by the rule of law and Constitutionalism.

“We believe in the Independence of the Judiciary and we urge all to abide by not just this Supreme Court decision but many other determinations that courts at all levels render on a day to day basis,” said Kuto.

Supreme Court managed to hear all the 9 presidential petition and determined them as required .
