A primary school teacher has confirmed to a Nairobi court that Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi was his former student at a Baringo school.

Simon Cherop informed anti-corruption chief magistrate Felix Kombo that he taught the legislator for two years as a class 6 and 7 pupil at Tulwopng’etuny Primary School.

The tutor told the court that Sudi was a student in the said school between 1995 and 1996 before leaving.

He recalled that Sudi was enrolled at the school as Kipchumba Kipletich.

The P1 teacher recalled being summoned by the headmaster to his office where he met three people but he couldn’t remember their names apart from one.

He said he later recorded a statement confirming that the legislator was his former student.

Sudi’s lawyer Ruto referred the witness to an old admission book to confirm that Kipchumba was admitted as Admission no.770.

While asked on whether Sudi completed his studies in the school, he said no and he didn’t know where he went to or which secondary school he attended.

The MP was not in court as his lawyer told the court that the MP was unable to attend court as he is currently involved in the Assumption of Office Committee that is organising the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect William Ruto set for Tuesday, September 13.
