A city lawyer has been charged with forging court records and giving false information with intent to deceive.

Jack Bigambo appeared before a Nairobi court and denied several charges including forging electronic record through the anti-corruption and Economic crimes Division of the High Court e-filing system.

The charges stated that on February 11, last year at Bigambo & Bigambo Advocates offices in Westlands, the advocate knowingly and fraudulently uttered a forged electronic records (Scanned Miscellaneous Application), purporting it to be genuine application commissioned by Grace Wambui Maina Advocate and Commissioner of oaths.

Bigambo is also accused of embossing a false stamp impression in the name of Grace Wambui Maina, with intent to deceive.

It is alleged that he committed the offence on February 10, 2022 at his offices in Westlands.

Further charge stated that he forged Grace Wambui Marina’s signature, purporting it to be genuine.

Prosecution told the court that the lawyer later in March 9, 2022 informed Abdinoor Diba, a police officer attached to EACC that Miscellaneous application No. E.004/2022 of Milimani was commissioned by Magua & Mbatha Advocates.

He denied the charges when he appeared before Milimani Senior Principal magistrate Martha Nazushi, who ordered him be released on paying cash bail of Sh100, 000.
