A former Kenya Revenue Authority official has been found guilty of illegally obtaining money and uttering false documents.

Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Benard Ochoi found Peter Muhu Muriuki guilty of three counts relating to obtaining money falsely.

Muhu will remain in custody pending sentencing scheduled for Friday.

The charges included inducing Rune Mjolhus Mathias (Director Scripture Mission East Africa) to deliver Sh3 million to a bank account at Stanbic Bank belonging to Mungu & Co-Advocate.

The official falsely pretended that Mungu & advocate are agents of the Kenya Revenue Authority authorized to collect Taxes on their behalf.

He committed the offence June 11, 2015 at Scripture Mission East Africa office along langata road within Nairobi County with intent to defraud.

He was also accused making fake KRA Pay as You Earn (PAYE) credit slip purporting it to be a valid PAYE credit slip.
