A man has been charged with obtaining Sh10 million by false pretense.

Jackson Waweru Munyi appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi and denied the charge.

The charges stated that he obtained Sh10,270,000 from Grace Wamboi Mukuha by falsely pretending that he was in a position to purchase for her a parcel of land in Laikipia.

The court was informed that he committed the offence between July 19, 2019 and August 22, 2019 in Nairobi, with intent to defraud.

The broker was also charged with forging an agreement for sale between Wanja Laiboni and Grace Wamboi as well as Peris Karimi Mburia, by purporting it to be a genuine and signed ny Wanja, the alleged seller.

The charge sheet further stated that he uttered a false document at Naivas Supermarket Moi Avenue to Wamboi.

The court postponed his bail determination to August 8, after it emerged that he has another case pending in court.
