Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba has moved to court to compel the Senate to supply her with all local and international travels made by the current senators.

Orwoba wants in the petition filed before the High Court to direct the Clerk of the Senate to supply her with details of all the trips made locally and internationally, since September 2022 to date.

She accuses the Clerk of denying her a chance to travel locally and international travel to represent the Senate.

“The clerk of the senate has biasly selected some senators and excluded others without plausible explanation including me,” says the Senator.

She claims that her efforts to get the said records has been futile..

Besides the lack of travels, Orwoba alleges mistreatment that have been meted upon her without explanation.

She claims that she have been the biggest victim and her efforts to raise the issue has not only been met with contempt but victimization.

“To demonstrate to the court that bias has been exercised against me, I did make several attempts to access the records of all senators selected to represent the senate both locally and internationally in vain,” says the Senator.

She claims that this denial has been without any plausible explanation as I am not seeking the other personal details of how much allowance, where individual senator aboard but only the record of travel both locally and internationally as this will clearly show that I have been treated differently from the rest by being denied travel opportunity despite being merited.

“In the circumstances, it is only fair and just that this Court issues the said orders so that fairness and the rule of law prevails as there should be no unequal treatment before the law for all the senators representing different interest groups,” she pleads.
