A Standard Chartered Bank employee has been charged with conspiracy to defraud.

Lucy Wamaitha Gichaiga appeared before Milimani Principal Magistrate Ndumbi and denied the charges brought against her.

Wamaitha was with falsely opening an account No.01024533443501 at the bank pretending that it was a genuine account for Seraph Engineering Limited, with intent to defraud Patrick Mweti John.

It is alleged that she committed the offence on the 10th March, 2021 at unknown place in Nairobi County, jointly with another before court.

The court heard that other directors of Seraph Engineering Ltd have also been charged with the same offence in a different court.

She was released on a bond of Sh1 million or an alternative cash bail of Sh300,000.
