The family of a Treasury employee who was found dead after expressing fears for his life over a multi million tender has called for thorough investigation into his death.
The body of Evans Chirchir was found lying at Machakos hospital mortuary after he was reported missing.
Before his death, Chirchir had allegedly expressed fears for his life as a member of a tender committee.
His family had filed an application seeking to compel the police to produce him only to be told that his body had been discovered at the mortuary.
The family later withdrew the case and appealed to the Inspector General of the Police and Director of Criminal Investigations to commence investigations to establish the cause of his disappearance and subsequent death.
Through lawyers Felix Keaton and Philip Lagat told the journalists at Milimani law courts that the late Chirchir disappeared in Machakos where he was attending a meeting related to tendering process.
The family called for speedy investigation into the killing.
