A Nairobi businessman has been charged with defrauding Sh 1.1 million from a travel agent to secure jobs in Dubai.
Francis Maina Keya appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina denied the charges.
He is accused of obtaining Sh 1,180,180 from Regina Muthoni Mburu by falsely pretending that he would assist her secure jobs in Dubai for several of her clients.
He is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 1st March and 30th June 2024 at Shammar Jet Travel Agency.
He was released on a bond of Sh 500,000 with one surety of a similar amount or alternative cash bail of Sh 250,000 and provide one contact person to secure his release pending the hearing and determination of the case.
