A former employee of a state agency has been charged with threatening to kill her former Human Resources manager by sending messages.
Hellen Nyambura Njoki,a former employee of Geothermal Development Corporation GDC) appeared before Milimani Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and denied the charges.
Nyambura was been charged with threatening to kill Miriam Athmani Yunus in a message sent through WhatsApp.
It is alleged that she committed the offence on 13th April, this year at unknown place without lawful excuse.
According to the charge sheet, Nyambura wrote to Athmani, “I told the DCI coz they have these documents with them, we will take law at hand the way they do in their organization hata Sisi tuonekane kwa news. You see the killings going on in Kenya police amongst them? Hata GDC we should be part of that tuonekane kwa news”.
The charge sheet further stated that she sent another message stating, “Do this mwanamke, come to Nakuru GDC polo centre employees will notify me wakati uko tushikane, you will kill me or I will kill you, mambo ni mawili. We will take law at hand then polisi wakuje badaye, thus how we roll in Nakuru”.
The court also heard that Nyambura uttered offensive and malicious wordsY through WhatsApp stating,
“GDC employees will inform me when you will be at Polo centre nikutafute we do what women do. Hakuna kuma uko nayo kuliko wanawake wengine n to be precise Wetangula will produce that Richard Ochieng. If at all we ever shared a dick together, we will iron out that. GDC isn’t your mother’s business”.
The prosecution further told the court that Nyambura used several vulgar words while addressing Athmani such as “Kishosho” “Mchawi wa Mombasa” hence destroying Athmani’s reputation to the public and at her work place.
The court released Nyambura on a bond of Sh 500,000 or an alternative cashbail of Sh 300,000.
The matter will be mentioned on 10th December.
She was arrested after Miriam who is the GDC Human Resources Development manager reported the threat to the police.
The accused is former GDC employee who was dismissed from the company over alleged gross misconduct. Miriam was a member of Internal Appeals Disciplinary committee that had recommended her dismissal.
