A woman accused of obtaining money by false pretences by issuing work placements sponsorship for visa to Australia, Europe and Middle East has been charged.
Emily Chepkoech Chirchir appeared before Kibera Law Courts Magistrate Irene Kahuya denied the charges.
Chepkoech is accused that on 24th July, 2024 at around 14000hr at Langata area in Langata sub-county within Nairobi county with intent to defraud, obtained Sh. 100.000.
She obtained money from Cliff Omwando Omamba by falsely pretending that she was in a position to facilitate, Visa to Australia a fact she knew to be false.
She was released on a bond of Sh.100,000 pending hearing and determination of her fraud case
She was held at Langata Police station before she was charged.
Prosecution has listed Absa Bank,a police officer among others to testify against her.
