A Bank of Africa employee and an accomplice have been charged with stealing Sh.7.6 million from the lender.

Judy Wambui Maina, the Bank quality management office and Winnie Njeri Gitau were presented before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina where they denied the charges.

Wambui and Njeri were accused of jointly conspiring to defraud Bank (k) limited of the money, an offence they allegedly committed on diverse dates between 6 December 2023 and 7th November 2024 at an unknown place.

Wambui was further accused of stealing the money, which came into her possession by virtue of her employment.

The charge sheet stated that he committed the offence on diverse dates between 6 December 2023 and 7 November 2024 at Bank of Africa head office in Westlands.

The accused persons were ordered to deposit cash bail of Sh.100,000 each, to secure their freedom.
