FAMOUS CITY MATATU ASSOCIATED WITH SENIOR POLITICIAN SON DETAINED PENDING COMPLIANCE WITH NTSA REQUIREMENTS.

BY NT CORRESPONDENT.

Milimani Magistrate Traffic Court has ordered the detention of the notorious Money fest 001 and Matrix matatus, which are allegedly linked to the son of a senior politician, until they comply with NTSA regulations.

Traffic Senior Principal Magistrate Eric Otieno issued the orders after Leonard Muasya Kituu, the driver of Money Fest, and Dickson Wambua Masya, the driver of Matrix, were charged with multiple traffic offenses, including causing obstruction, operating a public service vehicle without a license, driving a matatu without a number plate, and failing to wear the required uniform.

The court directed the drivers to report to the Traffic Base Commander once per week and ordered the detention of the matatus until they meet the necessary NTSA requirements.

Kituu and Masya are accused of the following offenses:

On March 21, 2025, at around 7:00 AM along Kenneth Matiba Road in Nairobi, Kituu, driving motor vehicle registration KDQ 111T, an Isuzu minibus branded “MONEY FEST 001”, allegedly caused obstruction and inconvenience to other road users by making a U-turn and driving on the wrong side of the road.

On March 20, 2025, at around 8:00 PM along the same road, Masya, driving vehicle registration KDN 429N, an Isuzu minibus branded “MATRIX”, reportedly ignored a police officer’s direction and continued driving on the wrong side, despite being instructed to return to the correct lane.

On March 21, 2025, at around 7:00 AM, Kituu allegedly committed the same offense, refusing to comply with the instructions of a police officer and continuing to drive on the wrong side of the road.

Both drivers were further charged with:

Failing to wear a service badge while operating their vehicles on March 20, 2025, along Kenneth Matiba Road.

The court released them on a cash bail of Ksh 50,000 each.
