Two land officials have been summoned to court to plead to the charges of conspiracy to defraud Zambian High Commission of a parcel of land on Ngong Road along.
Milimani Magistrate Eric Ondieki summoned public land officer Andrew Kirungu and land officer Nicholas Muchoge to appear in court on April 19.
Another official- Gilbert Oyoo- was present in court but did not plead to the charges, while Neeraj Jayatilal Kalaiya and James Onunga have already denied the charges.
The officials and the businessmen have been accused of conspiracy to defraud the Zambian High Commission of the parcel of land by forging a title deed.
The court heard that they committed the offence on unknown dates, jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud.
The accused persons allegedly forged title deed to the land measuring 0.75 on September 16, 2021 in the name of Kalaiya, purporting it to be genuine.
The prosecution told the court that Kalaiya claimed possession of the parcel in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace against the on October 1 last year at Kilimani, yet the land belongs to the Zambian High Commission.
The charges stated that Kirungu and Muchoge aided the fraudulent registration of land IR 235130LR 1/1392 to Kalaiya and in the process abused their authority.
Kalaiya and Onunga were released on a cash bail of Sh500,000.
