A motor vehicle dealer has been charged with conspiracy to defraud a buyer of Sh11. 5 million.

Samuel Maina Muchiri appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and denied the charges against him.

Maina was charged with falsely pretending that he was in a position to import two motor vehicles make Toyota Prado TX and Toyota Prado TZG, on behalf of Irene Wanjiku Mark, an offence he allegedly committed on diverse dates between 16th March 30th October, 2023, with intent to defraud.

He was further charged with obtaining a total sum of Sh 5,840,000, on diverse dates between the 27th March and 13th October,2023 at NCBA bank Nanyuki branch, within Laikipia County, with intent to defraud.

He defrauded the money from Irene Wanjiku Mark, by falsely pretending that he was in a position to import for her two motor vehicles make Toyota Prado TX and Toyota Prado TZG, a fact you knew to be false.

The court heard that Maina was charged with two other charges of obtaining Sh 800,000 and Sh 136,000 respectively.

His co-accused had earlier been presented before court.

He was released on a bond of Sh 900,000
