A city man has been charged with stealing precious stones worth millions of shillings from two men last month.
Vincent Omondi Onyango was charged with stealing stole three pieces of green garnet precious stones of 8.6 Carats valued at Sh 1,046,520, belonging to Duncan Muendo Wambua.
He is alleged to have stolen the precious items at Westlands Square Art Café, in Nairobi on August14, 2025
Omondi was also charged with stealing one piece Ruby stone of 5 carats, 22 pieces Ruby stones of 20 Carats and 41 pieces yellow sapphire stones of 47 carats, all valued at Sh 1,033,600 from Julius Ongoro Opiyo.
The charge sheet stated that he stole the gems on August 14, 2025 and at Rosanto Restaurant along Kaunda Street, in Nairobi County,
He denied the charges when he appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi.
The court released on a bond of Sh800,000.
