A trader has been charged with carrying out business of collective investment scheme without a license from the Capital Markets Authority (CMA).

Sylvia Oshome was accused of carrying out the business through Maxflex Investment without a valid Licence issued by capital markets regulator.

The charge stated that she committed the offence on diverse dates between 26th day of October 2024 and 4th January 2025 at Jem Park Complex, an office on Mombasa Road, within Machakos County.

It is alleged that she was doing the job jointly with another before court.

She denied the charge when she was brought before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi.

The court ordered her to deposit cash bail of Sh100,000, to be released.
