ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE SUSPECTS TO REMAIN IN CUSTODY TILL BOND RULING.

Three young men facing six counts of robbery with violence will remain in custody pending a court ruling on their request for release on bond.

Frank Matutu alias Suleiman Ahmed,28, Edwin Bwire Oundo alias Edu,25 and Peter Macharia Waithaka alias Mugikuyu,27 are accused of storming into a house in Madaraka estate on 18th February 2016 and violently robbing people items and cash estimated at Ksh 260,000 on the said night.

Prosecution led by Eddie Kadebe objected grant of bond following an affidavit from Nathaniel Ambasa,DCI langata. The affidavit stated that the accused had threatened the complainants in the case and that ballistic reports from ammunition recovered was on going which would assist in the case.

Prosecution further pointed out that the nature of offence was serious with a probability of the accused absconding court if granted bail.

Investigation states that the accused threatened to kill the complainants during the incident.

Frank Matutu and Edwin Bwire face additional counts of possesing firearms and ammunition without valid certificates and handling stolen property.

The Court will make its ruling on bond and bail terms on 18th March.

The matter was fixed for hearing on 12th May 2016.
