An inquiry into an alleged bribery claim on Supreme Court Judge Philip Tunoi will make its determination on Thursday, the tribunal chair Sharad Rao has said.

The tribunal will give the green light on whether to close the bribery allegations probe against judge Tunoi.

This is following a Sh200 million bribery scandal alleged to have been witnessed by journalist Joshua Kiplangat involving the judge and Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.

It is said that the money was meant to influence the outcome of an election petition between the latter and now Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu.

Judge Tunoi and his colleague Deputy Chief Justice Kalpana Rawal were retired after the apex court vacated orders stopping their retirement.

The Sharad Rao lead team, considering the decision of the court said that it was premature to decide the fate of the tribunal before hearing submissions of all counsel involved in probe.

The chair says the seven member team will need to presents findings of the investigations to President Kenyatta regardless of their decision.
