Lawyer Philip Nyachoti for 11 Turkana County officials who high court blocked EACC from prosecuting or arresting them.

The court has ordered a refund of money earlier fined to Turkana County officials.
It also extended orders stopping the EACC from prosecuting or arresting the 11 officials.
They filed an application through their lawyer Philip Nyachoti challenging their trial and secured orders barring the same.
It is alleged that the officials were involved in irregular award of road rehabilitation and construction contracts.
Eldoret Senior Principal Magistrate, C. Obulutsa suspended the intended criminal charges upholding an objection by lawyer Philip Nyachoti that the High Court had blocked the anti-graft agency from proceeding with the imminent prosecution.
The court also directed that cash bails deposited by two officials be refunded to them since seven other officials had not been formally served with summons to appear in court.
