A young man accused of touching the buttocks of a female police officer with his private parts has been ordered to pay a sh30, 000 cash bail.
Barber David Munene Kathurima, 24 appeared before Senior principal magistrate Joyce Gandani where he was accused that on September 10 2016 at downtown Nairobi, Duruma road,he intentionally touched the buttocks of 22 year old police constable Sheila Achieng Oloo with his genitals against her will.
Kathurima who denied the charge pleaded with the court to reduce his bail from Sh50,000 saying he could not raise the amount.
On the September 10 2016 at around 13:00hrs the complainant police officer Sheila Ochieng Oloo was on patrol in police uniform with her colleague Senior officer PC Jackson Ndirangu she went to a nearby M-pesa shop to withdraw some money.
Kathurima suddenly came from behind and held her and pushed his genital on her buttocks ad she fell on the counter of the M-Pesa shop.
She turned around and saw the accused and asked him what was the problem and the accused answered her that “Kenyan law don’t operate nowadays” do not take the law with your own words” replied the accused.
The accused who had bought yoghurt from the same shop started pouring the yoghurt on the two officers as he hurled insults on them.
He also resisted arrest by the officers.
It was said that he wrestled with officers while resisting arrest but the two officers were helped by traffic officers who arrested him and pushed him into a waiting police land cruiser and took him to central station where he was detained until today.
