Three members of Syokimau Mavoko Community Association accused of forging documents have been charged before a Nairobi Court.

Pius Musembi Kivindu, Simon Muia Ngui and Munyaka Mathula Muasa Nthula denied four counts of fraud and were each released on a cash bail of Sh 50,000 or a bond of 200,000 each.

The prosecution alleged that the three with intent to deceive the Associations made false document of a notice for annual general meeting.

The three allegedly forged the signature of Alex Kyalo who is the secretary of the association purporting it to be a genuine association notice signed and issued by him.

They also   forged a signature of the said secretary on another letter purporting to change the association’s office bearers.

The prosecution said the accused purported the fake document was a genuine signature of the said secretary a fact they knew to be false.

In addition they faced a third count of uttering a false document contrary to the law.

The court heard that they knowingly and fraudulently uttered to Mukulu Kariuki, a Deputy Registrar of Society, a forged notice of change of officials dated April 16, 2016 purporting it to be a genuine letter signed by Kyalo.

They further fraudulently uttered to the said Kariuki a forged notice to call a meeting purporting it to be a genuine notice signed  and issued  by Kyalo  a fact they knew to be false.

The court heard that the three committed the offense on May 12, 2016 jointly with others who are yet to be arrested and charged.

Magistrate Joyce Gandani said the case will be heard on November 21.
