The son of Media mogul SK Macharia was on Monday fined Kshs 25,000 by a Nairobi Traffic Court after he pleaded guilty to a traffic offence.
It is alleged that John Macharia failed to blow into a breathalyser after being ordered to do so by an officer along Waiyaki Way on 26 November.
However, Macharia did not appear in court in person but pleaded to the charges through his lawyer Ian Maina.
In mitigation, Maina told Senior Resident Magistrate Electra Rianyi that his client was remorseful for his actions and did not know what was going on at the time.He vowed not to repeat the offense.
He was fined 25,000 Shillings by Nairobi Traffic Court Senior Resident magistrate Electra Rianyi.
It is suspected that he was driving under influence of alcohol.
