A Pharmaceutical company is claiming Sh35 billion from the government for work done with the ministry of health.
Equip Agencies Limited claims that it supplied drugs and equipment worth Sh1.1 billion which the ministry is said to have received and then made promises to pay in the year 1993 and 1995.
They want the PS Dr Muraguri to pay up.
The company claims that despite receiving and utilizing the equipment’s and drugs supplied, the ministry decided to suspend the contract and terminate it on grounds that the goods were not as per the terms of contract.
Through SC Waweru Gatonye, the company said that the ministry refused to pay for the goods supplied, accepted and utilized by itself.
He added that the ministry has refused to pay the decretal sum for well over 5 years now, which amount continues to escalate due to accruing interest and stands at over Sh35 billion.
The company claims that it has been struggling to pay the financiers of the supplies using its own resources, incurring further debts in the process and negatively impacting on its business.
