Members who retired from the discipline forces are now concerned about the killing of police officers especially in the north of Kenya.

The members  are under an association of the the Global Veterans and peace ambassadors have expressed concerns over the increased number of Police officers who are  bieng killed in the line of duty.

Kihanya Waweru a  consultant says that the number of security officers being targeted by criminals is shockingly high.

He said it’s a shame that  the officers who died in Mandera County on 24th this month were on the enterouge of Governor Ali Roba while on his campaign trail.

“The retired members from the disciplined forces under our Umbrella are concerned about the increased number of police officers who are targeted by terrorists and other criminals”.He reiterated.

Waweru called upon all security officers to employ modern military tactics in fighting terror and other crimes.

“Much has not  changed especially in employing other tactical and modern modes of approach in fighting terror like using drones and other technology of minefield explosives”, he said.

He now wants the Government to employ more  police officers saying the number of serving cops countrywide isn’t enough .”
The Government is currently recruiting 10,000 officers annually to try and reach the Ratio of 1 police officer per 400 citizens.it however may become difficult to realize this dream if one VIP has most officers allocated to them.
