A man has been jailed for seven year for breaking and stealing from a city restaurant.

Zakayo Kukat Ang’ole was found guilty of stealing by a Nairobi court.

The Resident Magistrate found that the prosecutor was able to prove the case.

“The court finds the prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt that accused was found in B1 5 which was not his room , he gained unlawful  entry into that room, just a short while after B1 4 (in the same floor as B1 5) was unlawfully entered by an unknown person” the court found.

Items recovered from Zakayo included a master key which could have been in his possession for other reasons in the circumstances other than he was so armed with intent to commit a crime.

Zakayo was accused that on of March 12 2017 at Silk Bar and Restaurant in Ngara, Nairobi was found in possession of 6 lock keys, a master key, flat flie , padlock, 2wires and razorblade in circumstances that indicated that he was in possession of the said items with intent to break and steal.

The prosecution called three witness.

The convict was arrested after two customers allocated different rooms complained that their rooms were broken into while they were out and lost some of their belongings.

Zakayo was arrested at a Nairobi market after his two year girlfriend reported him.

Upon announcement of the sentence, Zakayo broke into tears.
