TWO ‘HUMAN TRAFFICKING SUSPECT’S’ IN COURT.

Two men accused of trafficking five Burudian nationals in order to exploit them have been charged with four counts before a Nairobi Court.

The suspect’s Kasso Abdallah Ebrahim and Bigirimana Hassan appeared before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and denied the charges.

The prosecution alleges that between March 1, 2018 and April 21, 2018 at Parklands estate in Westland’s sub-county, jointly with others not before court, they trafficked by recruiting five Burundian Nationals for purpose of exploitation by deception.

They faced three other counts of trafficking persons, interfering with travel documents and facilitating and aiding entry contrary to the law.

In the third count, the two are said to have had confiscated passports of the five Burundians so that they can traffic them.

The two were also charged with facilitating and aiding entry into Kenya contrary to section 7 of the counter trafficking in person act on similar dates and place.

According to the charge sheet the two being tenants of plot no .31 house number 8, they facilitated and aided the entry into Kenya the five Burundian nationals for the purposes of promoting trafficking of the said Burundian nationals.

According to the charge sheet prosecution has listed 25 Burundian who their passport were confiscated by the accused.

They were released on 1 million shillings bond or500,000 shillings cash bail.

 June hearing to proceed.
