A Nairobi court has detain two foreigners and One Kenyan for a period of 15 days to allow police to complete investigations.

Duty Court Magistrate Tobiko Sinkiyian allowed police to continue holding the three suspect after they told the court they needed more time to complete investigation since the three were arrested yesterday.

The three Abddoulaye Tamba Kouro, Abdalla Tamba and Anthony Mwangangi Munyiva were arrested yesterday at Westland’s, Nairobi County over 1 billion shillings fake currency.

The prosecution said that the amount seized is about 1 billion shillings and needs to be calculated as it is bulky.

Court was told that if released they can sabotage the economy of the country.

The prosecution through the affidavit of flying Squad Unit investigating Officer Mohammed Godana Hussein says that the three were arrested at Sandalwood apartment within Lower Kabete along Brookside drive after a tip off from members of the public.

The officer further argues that it needs more time to establish the foreigner’s true identity and find out whether they have accomplices who are still at large.

The court was told that during the search they recovered a wooden machine disguised for making papers intended to resemble and pass as currency notes.
